When will Intactivists learn that bullying will never work?

Intactivists:  While your cause is worthy, your attack-style delivery quickly kills it.  Dead.

Unless you are willing to expand your mind, you will never change the minds of others.

Intactivist: Heal Thyself

Further evidence of what these very people like to call circumfetish behavior?
I should say so.
Disgusting.

Eureka, but wait....

It hit me today that not only do I not give a fuck about circumcision, but if I had to choose, had I ever had a baby, I probably would not get him circumcised.

All I've ever known was circumcision.  However, after doing my own reading and research, I have to say I probably would not do it.  That is also under the circumstances that my husband agreed.  I know that, for a man, having a son is one of the greatest joys in the world.  So I would have to have his agreement.  And then we might have a fight, or we might not.  I don't know.

And I'll never know, because I don't have a uterus.

With that being said, if the Intactivists would calm down I think they could do some good in this world.  But they just can't do it, and I honestly do not understand why.

From the moment I clicked on the ERIC Facebook page I felt belittled, put on the spot, and felt like I was being yelled at.  So I went on the defensive.

The blog the next day was just a common everyday thing that I do.

Then came the bombardment.  They just happened to pick the wrong one to bombard because I will fight all day long with a paper bag if I have to.  They said things to me they would NEVER have gotten out of their mouths all the way in person because I would have slapped the shit out of them.

Anyway, it is a shame that there is a good message but nobody can hear them from all the different ways they go about putting people on the defensive.  I was taught a great deal about giving information to people who don't want to listen or accept that information when I was in nursing school.  If these people really want to get their point across they have GOT to stop going about it the way they are.

The following words should be DELETED from their vocabulary:

1.  Mutilated (or any variation thereof)
2.  Ruined
3.  Perfect
4.  Ignorant
5.  Fetish (or any variation thereof)
6.  Any condescending words like sweetie, honey, sweet cheeks, etc.
7.  Any accusatory words that put mothers or fathers on the defense to begin with.

With all of that being said, you can't change everyone's minds.  Some people will listen to you and some won't.  I've tried to teach drug addicts how to get off of drugs only for them to overdose as soon as they leave the hospital, I've tried to teach teenage mothers how to properly use birth control only for them to come back pregnant, I've tried to teach diabetics how to take care of themselves so that they don't lose parts of their body only for them to come in months later and have their leg amputated because they chose not to listen.  I've told patients, after routine colonoscopies, to make sure that they come back next year and get a repeat colonoscopy because we found a polyp.  Did they come back in a year?  No.  They came back in five and found out that that polyp had grown into a cancerous mass.

People do not always listen.  I'm sorry but that is just the way it is.

I think the ones of you who are rational, calm individuals should break away from the people who seem to have lost their fucking minds and call yourselves something else because, I gotta tell you, the word "Intactivist" has a very bad connotation from what I have experienced, from what my friends have experienced, and from what I have researched on the internet.

Good luck.

Educational Comments?

I was not familiar with "The Weakly News with Iliza Shlesinger" until I ran across a link to one of her episodes on YouTube on an Intactivist Facebook page.

While I do not agree with the comments she made and I do agree that she needs education about circumcised penises vs. uncircumcised penises, I, AGAIN do not agree with the "educational comments" that the majority of these Intactivists left on her video. To see those comments, just read them under the video.

And make no mistake about it, when I say that she needs education on that subject I mean that she needs it if she agrees to listen to it. I mean that she should be approached calmly and rationally by one person who asks if it is okay to speak to her about it. If she agrees, then they should lay out the facts based on peer-reviewed science and not based on material that was written by Intactivists. If she says that she doesn't want the education, then they should accept that fact and walk away.

Anyway, how do I know these people went to her link from an Intactivist site? Case in point: CynDaVez is very close to the name of a woman who posts on that site regularly.

I do believe that this web show's outrageous comments and unconventional manner of presentation has a lot to do with her talking about the matter the way she did. Also, keep in mind that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Are her statements inflammatory? Yes. Does she do it on purpose? Most likely.

Did I find her funny? Yes. I did. I found the wolf opening funny and I found the wolf dance funny. Do I know why? Not really. I tend to find flat-out random stupidity quite funny most of the time. I laugh at stuff that makes no sense and seems to have no rationale whatsoever. Kind of like how I found the movies "Napoleon Dynamite" and "Pootie Tang" hilarious. Both totally random and pretty stupid but funny as shit.

Anyway. Yeah, I thought she went overboard but I think she was caught in the moment and trying to prove her point. Or trying to go for the shock value, or whatever.

But whatever. Here we go again with the "educational comments". I did not know that "educational comments" include words like "fuck you", "stupid bitch", "fuck off and die slowly", "disgustingly stupid", and "idiot". Guess I missed that part of my education in my 10 years of post-high school education. But what do I know? I'm just a stupid nurse.

Admission

Here is admission of stalking and terrorizing by these groups.  Instead of writing a heartfelt letter or email, they chose to go so far as to text her when she has no idea who they are in the first place.

"Let's just say I had the last word" is what Michael Tucker had to say in response to her text back that she would call the police.

I guess actually sitting down and composing an email or a letter as to why this picture was found offensive made just a little too much sense.

To see the picture with the admission of harassing behavior, click on the link.

We can't make this stuff up.  It's easily accessible on the internet.

How would you have handled this situation?

Stalk and Terrorize

BOMBARDED A YOUNG FATHER?  UNTIL YOU MADE HIM SAD?

I guess you people feel that terrorizing individuals into doing your will is how to get things done.

Do You Know?

We read an article today that an Intactivist had written.  She sounded like she had a level head on her shoulders.  She seemed quite normal.  She seemed like someone that we could actually sit down and have a conversation with, even if we didn't agree on every point.

She mentioned that there were people out there that gave Intactivists a bad name based on the way they approach people and the way that they it when someone does not support their point of view.

But do you really know how bad of a name they give you?  If we were part of a group that had a real cause that meant a lot to us we would be horrified at how those people act. we would want to form a whole new group and keep them out of it somehow.

Jen has a lot of friends on Facebook.  She has a lot of views on her blog.  She has a lot of views on her YouTube videos.  Just so we're clear, DO YOU KNOW what those people did to your cause last week?

They made a mockery of it.  In front of a lot of people.  Jen didn't do that.  She didn't have to do that.  They did that.

We would venture to say that the majority of people did not even know what an Intactivist was until last week.  And with the open-minded people we are friends with it's a pretty good chance that you could have had a very attentive, very open captive audience.  But they tore that up before it even had a chance to occur.

Is this how you want yourself represented?

You all have a lot of work to do to fix your current situation.  It's sad.

TLC Tugger (explicit)

Ron Low invented this contraption in his basement.  According to Mr. Low, this device will restore slack shaft skin.

"Skin lengthening is achieved by gently but persistently tensioning the penile shaft skin. In 1 to 3 years, most restorers have enough skin to fully cover the glans when flaccid. That's a commitment, but 200,000 men today find it well worth the effort."

Tell us - do you agree?  Would you subject yourself to this?

TLC Tugger

Detailed instructions - try not to wince, boys (explicit).

...and finally, a visual demonstration (explicit).

Heartbreak and Harassment

This woman lost her child to a heart condition.  When she and her husband still had hope that her child would live, they had him circumcised.

This particular post on her blog only has one comment from an Intactivist, but, wow.  It's a doozie.

We will be posting more of their harassment on her blog.  But for now, just look at this.

How could anyone be so cruel?

No heart at all

Check out this link.

One of the main culprits in the constant, never-ending attack on this woman was Ron Low, self-proclaimed TLC Tugger.  Google TLC Tugger if you don't know about it.  It's riveting.

Foreskin Man Comic Targets Children

"Intactivism" is the belief in the right of baby boys to keep their foreskins intact. And in San Fransisco, there's a particularly polarizing movement to legally ban circumcision altogether, a fight which has started to turn ugly. As part of the campaign to ban the practice through ballot initiatives, the group MGMBill has created a series of online comic books featuring "Foreskin Man" fighting the "Monster Mohel." How could anyone possibly have a problem with that? "'Foreskin Man,' with its grotesque anti-Semitic imagery and themes, reaches a new low and is disrespectful and deeply offensive," said Nancy J. Appel, Anti-Defamation League Associate Regional Director.

"Foreskin Man" was the creation of Matthew Hess, the president of the Male Genital Mutilation Bill group. You can follow along with all of the adventures of Dr. Mutilator and Nurse Jenny Sparklett here. Appel said the imagery in the comic, including pictures of the Mohel waving bloody scissors over a screaming baby, invokes the "age-old anti-Semitic canards" such as blood libel, the false accusation that Jews murder Christian children to use their blood in religious rituals.

Here's the, uh, colorful description of the "Monster Mohel" on the site: "Nothing excites Monster Mohel more than cutting into the penile flesh of an eight-day-old boy. And after the glorified brit milah is complete, the delicious metzitzah b'peh provides the icing on the cake. Inactivists have been pressuring Monster Mohel to retire, but that will never happen. They will have to pry the scissors from his cold, dead hands." FYI: Metzizah b'peh is a tradition where the mohel sucks blood from the circumcision wound; a sterilized glass tube is used for it however, so the icing comment really is just gross. But at least he wasn't bitten by a radioactive Yarmulke!

Ultimately, Appel says that the ADL's objections aren't about the issue of circumcision, but rather the way the group has decided to depict their argument: "We would have hoped those backing the anti-circumcision effort in San Francisco would know better than to use this type of anti-Semitic imagery to advance their cause. No matter what one's personal opinions of male circumcision, it is irresponsible to use stereotypical caricatures of religious Jews to promote the anti-circumcision agenda." But at least MGMBill can take comfort in knowing that their comic book has reached the crucial 8-12 year old crowd, inspiring them to vote in the ballot initiative next November. No holes in that plan!

Case in point.

See, we don't need to ramble on about anything.  Our work has been done for us.

What is an Intactivist?

We have asked ourselves this same question quite a bit lately.

From what we have been told, an Intactivist is a human rights fighter.  A person who stands up for infant boys' rights to decide whether or not they want to be circumcised.

What we have found is that although there are some Intactivists who truly do have childrens' well-being at heart, while there are Intactivists who seem to be reasonable individuals....well, for every one of those Intactivists there is at least two hate-filled, raging lunatics behind them.

These lunatics harass individuals who have the audacity to speak their own opinion.  They harass individuals who don't have an opinion at all.  They threaten people's professions, they demand coroner's reports on children who have died of issues unrelated to circumcision at all, they do not know when to stop.

What is the purpose of our blog?  Our purpose is to expose these Intactivists using evidence from the Internet.  Anything that we post will either have been on the Internet and been saved prior to being removed or it will be evidence that is still on the Internet.

We have nothing to hide.  It's all there.

So let's begin, shall we?
